Now I Understand Grace

Now I understand grace.  I don’t think there are many Christian groups out there that truly understand the grace of God or what grace really is as defined by Michael Heiser here in his video.  His message needs to be shouted from the housetops.  It took me awhile to really understand that even our true obedience to God’s laws, both the literal ones and the spirit of them as defined in Matthew 5:17-48, is actually written into and being written into our hearts and minds by God himself, through his indwelling Holy Spirit, and not through a works trip of our own.  That is defined in the very simple Bible definition of what the New Covenant is, as defined in Jeremiah 31:31-34 and Hebrews 8:6-13.  Looking back, over my lifetime spent within the greater Body of Christ (55 years at this point), I have seen recently, just how much of those laws have been written into my heart and mind by God, not by me.  Even in the very beginning of my calling I could detect that all of a sudden I had a love for God’s laws, as defined in Romans 8.  Now looking back, I understand that love for God’s laws and the things of God was being generated within me by God through his indwelling Holy Spirit.  i.e. The works were being performed by God.  Our very obedience is actually a God-thing, in reality.  That also is grace, an essential part of the grace of God, not brought on by any minister pounding on the pulpit demanding obedience.
